CAPSIM has built in IIR and FIR filter design packages and includes an interactive graphical pole-zero design system. CAPSIM includes a comprehensive transmission line network modeling and analysis package. In addition CAPSIM is provided with blocks and topologies for speech processing and image processing.

With the built in interpreter and block diagram scripting, users can develop iterative simulations and optimize designs and perform sensitivity analysis.

The CAPSIM interpreter and C blocks support the solving of real and complex eigenvalue problems, and singular value problems through LAPACK in addition to systems of simultaneous linear equations, least-squares solutions of linear systems of equations.
